50, is that old or young?

50, is that old or young? I guess that depends on who you ask. During the media blitz on the death of Michael Jackson and Farrah I began to think how sad it was that although they both went through a variety of surgeries to look different or younger, neither one of them had a chance to get old. Maybe embracing aging should be the norm, instead of fighting so hard to hide it.

On the other hand, Farrah and Michael, were very talented people who changed the world and took so many risks in their careers. When you are in the entertainment business, there is a fine line between success and falling flat on your face. Brittany Spears is another example, of someone who continues to take the risk of falling on her face, but continues to forge forward. You have to admire her for that.

For close to 40 years, I was not much of a risk taker, I was just awful at making decisions on anything, because god forbid I may make a mistake. I embrace change now and the only way I found my way to this, is by starting. I have had some of my greatest experiences in stepping forward and not really knowing how something will turn out. I have learned to trust my gut enough to step forward, accept that I may screw up and the only way I will achieve what I need in my life is by stepping outside my comfort zone. A book that changed my life was "Feel The Fear, But Do It Anyway" " by Susan Jeffers.

 A speaker I heard recently said, time will go by very quickly, make sure you make a difference in this world, by helping people here and in other countries. You won't make a difference sitting in your living room watching Big Brother or the Bachelor. The old saying about not being able to take the riches with you, is so true. But the riches you leave in other's hearts, will always be remembered.
