Friday, November 26, 2010 Anonym 4064 Relationships Women need Women One of my greatest pleasures, is escaping to the movie theatre, the bigger bonus is to do it with my daughter. Recently, we made a spontaneous decision and went for dinner at the Blue Chair Diner and then to the see the "Sex in the City 2" movie. I wasn't expecting too much, I just hoped to be entertained. What I found interesting is even with a big difference in age, Amber and I both really enjoyed the movie. What would appeal to both of us, she being 25. single and never having children and me being the opposite. Is it the fashion, the parties, the shoes, or the lifestyle of these women that draw us to the theatre? I believe it is the relationships these women have with each other. One of the reasons I started the Fabulous@50 meetups and the tradeshows was to connect with other women, and I selfishly hoped that I would create a group that supported and inspired each other, just like the Sex In The City characters do. My daughter Amber has a group of friends, that remind me so much of the women in the movie, they are all very different, yet an acceptance and pride of each other is overwhelming. One of them is a Gold Metal Olympian, another is a Notre Dame University grad working in Washington D.C, another is a professional dancer/choreographer/optician and Amber has chosen to travel and explore a food and wine career. When they get together, the energy is incredible and time has stood still. They even have their very own Facebook page...LOL . The key I believe is in being authentic and accepting people for who they are, and where they are in their lives. You can never go wrong if you take that path...
