2019 the Year of Celebrities Turning Fabulous@50

From athletes to popstarts

2019 is the year of celebrities turning 50. From athletes, to pop stars and action heroes, they are joining the Fabulous@50 community. What is really wonderful is to see many of these people at the height of their careers.

People like Jennifer Lopez, who is a force in herself, and some like Jason Bateman have gone from teen heartthrob to a regular face in the big screen and TV.

Jason Bateman, Jan. 14
This 1980s heartthrob did stints on Little House on the Prairie and Valerie before playing straight as an arrow Michael Bluth in a crazy family on Arrested Development. And now in his 50’s he is playing a financial planner, husband and father who getting involved in a life of crime in the Netflix show Ozark.

Dave Grohl, Jan. 14
He was the front main for the Foo Fighters since 1994, but before that he was the drummer for the legendary Kurt Cobain-led grunge-rock band Nirvana.

Jennifer Aniston, Feb. 11
She was 25 when she became Rachel Green on Friends in 1994, the role that made her (not to mention her fabulous hair and romantic ups and downs) A-list famous. And at 50 years she’s returning to television, co-starring with Steve Carrell and Reese Witherspoon in series about a TV morning-show team.

Javier Bardem, March 1
He first achieved success in Spanish-language films like Jamón, Jamón before making his way to Hollywood, eventually winning an Oscar for his supporting role as the stunningly creepy killer in 2007’s No Country for Old Men. His next project brings him back to his roots: He’ll play 16th century Spanish explorer Hernán Cortés in an upcoming miniseries from Amazon Studios.

Cate Blanchett, May 14
One of my favorites is Cate Blanchett. Her amazing roles like Elizabeth (1998) and Carol (2015) have earned this talented Australian-born actress two Oscar nominations, including two wins (for the 2014 movie Blue Jasmine and 2004’s The Aviator).

Jennifer Lopez, July 24
This lady can do it all, sing, dance and act. Time recently listed Jennifer among the world’s “100 Most Influential People” — started out as a dancer on In Living Color before her breakout role in the 1997 biopic Selena. More hit movies, like Maid in Manhattan (2002), followed, but acting’s secondary to her music career; she’s sold 80 million records worldwide.

Tyler Perry, Sept. 13
Well know for his tough grandma character Madea, this talented actor and comedian, and started out as a playwright, which is where he first developed Madea (the New Orleans-born Perry has said she’s based on “the type of grandmother that was on every corner when I was growing up”). He’s retiring Madea in 2019, however, with the film A Madea Family Funeral.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sept. 25
This Welsh actress found her footing on British television in the 1990s before she moved to Los Angeles to further her career, which she did — in films such as The Mask of Zorro (1998) and Chicago (2002). The Oscar winner (famously long-married to Michael Douglas) showed up in her first-ever U.S. television role this past year, playing a ruthless Oklahoma pageant coach on Queen America, a series from Facebook Watch.

Gwen Stefani, Oct. 3
She started her career as a song writer who helped propel the band "No Doubt" to fame with her song “Don’t Speak”. Then she soon reached the top of the charts with her own solo album, Love.Angel.Music.Baby. The Grammy winner later coached the next generation of vocalists on NBC’s The Voice — where she met her country-music-star boyfriend Blake Shelton.

Matthew McConaughey, Nov. 4
From comedy to dark drama. He made his iconic onscreen debut as David Wooderson in Dazed and Confused before becoming the go-to guy for rom-coms like The Wedding Planner (2001). In the last few years he’s opted for darker, more dramatic roles, like on the HBO television show True Detective, in films like Dallas Buyers Club (2013) or the 2019 neo-noir thriller Serenity.

Jay-Z, Dec. 4
This guys has everything, a great music career as a rapper, a sports agency, clothing line and music streaming platform include being married to Beyoncé. This rapper went platinum in 1996 with his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and continued to climb the charts with best-sellers like The Blueprint (2001) and The Black Album (2003).

Matthew Perry
Matthew Langford Perry (born August 19, 1969) is a Canadian-American actor, comedian and playwright best loved for his role as Chandler Bing on the NBC television sitcom Friends.

Brett Favre
Brett Lorenzo Favre is a former American football quarterback who spent the majority of his career with the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League. He was a 20-year veteran of the NFL, having played quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, and Minnesota Vikings. Favre is the only quarterback in NFL history to throw for over 70,000 yards, over 6,000 completions, and over 10,000 pass attempts.

Jack Black
Thomas Jacob "Jack" Black is an American actor, producer, comedian, and singer. He has a extensive career mostyly in comedy. He is best known for his roles in High Fidelity, Shallow Hal, School of Rock, King Kong, Nacho Libre, Tropic Thunder, The Holiday, Bernie and the Kung Fu Panda films. Black is considered a member of the so-called Frat Pack, a loose grouping of comic actors who have appeared together from an early age in various Hollywood films.

Nancy Kerrigan
Remember this messy story between the olympic skaters Tonya Harding and Nancy Ann Kerrigan. Nancy is an American former figure skate, that competed in the 1994 Olympic and won a silver medal.

Chaz Bono
Chaz Salvatore Bono is an American advocate, writer and musician. He is the only child of American entertainers Sonny and Cher. Bono is a transgender man.
