Booking ME Time
One of my favorite activities is reading and I usually read a number of books at once. I will read a cereal box, if it is the only readable content sitting in front of me. Books are strategically placed though out my house. Personal development books in the living room, maybe one or two at my bedside, some travel magazines in the bathroom and one purely for enjoyment that I read when I am doing cardio at the gym. I use all these books to motivate me and keep my mind open to new ideas. Motivation...that seems to be coming up for me a lot lately. I have been asked to speak to a group of people about how I stay motivated, how I stay focused on a goal and follow it through to the end. One of the most important things I need to stay motivated is energy, if I am tired....I just do not feel motivated to do anything. And like so many of my Fabulous@50 friends, energy is a challenge sometimes. Eating well, getting exercise, spending time in the outdoors and taking time to recharge is scheduled into my life. I have a very well planned calendar, and I schedule ME in first. I have been an avid lunch hour workout person for over 25 years. Sometimes I work out hard, sometimes I allow myself an easy day, but I go everyday. I was at a seminar on the weekend, one of the speakers Michelle Cederberg (who was excellent) talked about the importance of exercise, even if it is only 10 - 15 minutes to start. Just put your runners on, and walk around the block. If you need a distraction, bring your IPod and listen to music or an inspirational CD. Find the form of exercise that you enjoy, walking, riding a bike, dancing, yoga.
Do what you enjoy, but do something, you deserve to feel fabulous everyday!
Fabulously yours
