I have always believed that if you search and find a job then you are lucky but when you search and find something that is so much more than a job or even a career then you are blessed and this is your passion. For me I have worked in many fields from office to factory but just went with the flow of the position. I have always felt I would be working with the public in some manner. My first job at 16 was working for a local newspaper, collecting stories from many different people, I was enthusiastic and truly loved the interaction with the public. As the years went on I had many opportunities to work in the public and participated in two marathons with Team Diabetes and also worked as a fundraising coordinator. I feel so alive and excited when planning and hosting events, I believe this is my true gift. The search for a career that would allow me to live my passions began about a year ago.
I went online and searched for fundraising business etc. Then one day I found Dianna Bowes founder of Fabulous@50 in Edmonton, I replied to the ad, filled out a questionnaire about personality etc. I knew in my heart this was the opportunity to finally own my own community based business and follow my true passion to help other women to connect in a fun environment.
I had the privilege of meeting Dianna in person last summer in Edmonton, we were like long lost friends and connected immediately.I want to inspire others to never give up, at 58 I have finally found my heart based business and look forward to everyday following my passion, This is our time, do what you have always wanted to do .
